Day 39: Monday 24 June, Narita-Singapore

Partir c'est mourir un peu
No matter where you go, there you are.
Today's flight left at 12:00. Had a substantial breakfast in the Hotel, as I
reckoned this would do me most of the day. Flight uneventful.
In Singapore, checked in at the Southeast Asian hotel.
Had the usual curry at the Tamil restaurant and then walked as far as Little India for a nightcap. Over a few beers got talking with some locals, and we hung around there chatting until the wee hours, long after the bars closed. By the time I got back to the hotel it was almost time to get up.
My plan now was to head for the north of Malaysia, stopping off at Kuala Lumpur, Penang and Kota Bahru. Depending on how things went, I might also try to head for Bangkok, spend a couple of days there, then see some other parts of Thailand.
